Trading Cost Calculator
Add commission, spread, slippage and fees into the true round-trip cost of a trade, and the move needed to cover it.
Calculate the true cost of a trade
Spread, slippage, commission, funding, borrow and transaction taxes — what a trade actually costs to hold.
Every other calculator on this site reports a gross figure. Costs are what turn a gross edge into a net one, and they are the usual reason a strategy that looks profitable on paper is not: they are paid on winners and losers alike, and they scale with how often you trade rather than with how well.
They also behave differently from one another, which is why they are separated here rather than lumped into one number. Commission usually scales with size. The spread is a fixed distance whatever the size, so it dominates short-term trading and barely registers on a position held for months. Funding and borrow accrue with time, so they do the reverse.
Nothing on these pages presets a broker's numbers. Commission, spreads, swap and funding rates, borrow rates and margin terms differ by broker, venue, instrument and account tier, and a calculator that guessed them would be confidently wrong for most readers. Take the figures from your own contract specification or statement and enter them.
The figure worth carrying away from most of these pages is the break-even move: how far price has to travel in your favour before the trade is worth nothing at all. It is the honest starting line for any trade.
